Dan de Zille returns to Formula Ford with JTR Racing
Date: Monday, March 7th, 2011

Silverstone National circuit is the venue for the opening round of this season’s Dunlop MSA Formula Ford Championship series on 10th April.

Jersey-based Dan de Zille makes a return to the series for his third successive season, running with two-time Championship contenders JTR Racing under the guidance of Nick Tandy.

Dan finished 8th in the Formula Ford Championship in 2010. Towards the second half of the season Dan was regularly finishing in the top 6, and his early-season testing this year has demonstrated much potential.

JTR Team manager Nick Tandy said “It’s going to be a busy season; we have three very strong drivers. We are delighted to have Dan on board with us - he’s a very experienced driver. The tests days have gone well, and Dan’s been putting in some front-running speeds. We’re looking forward to a very strong start to the season next week.

When asked how he was feeling about the move and the forthcoming season Dan said: “Making the move to JTR was a hard decision to make as Minister had put so much into me. But hopefully this will push me forwards as a driver and allow me to perform at a higher level, consistently throughout the season. I already know most of the team and it’s gelling well and we’re setting good times so I am very happy with the move so far! With regard to the season, I am feeling pretty confident, we’ve not had long with the car in it's full JTR spec but we’re already finding lots of time and closing in on the front runners. I see my main rivals being Scott Malvern, Jeroen Slaghekke and Geoff Uhrhane. The other Jamuns are also going to be quick I think it's going to be about consistency as much as raw pace so I need to have an intelligent approach to the season.”

The Season opener starts Saturday 10th April at Silverstone National Circuit at 4pm.
