Dan took part in his second Belgium EuroCup race this month, after his double podium adventures in Spa Francorchamps. This round also counted for the Dutch Formula Ford Championship.
With 25 cars on the grid at Belgium's former Grand Prix venue and the track notorious for being a difficult circuit on which to pass, Dan was playing catch-up after not being able to test at Zolder before practice and it was once again Scott Malvern who romped to a double victory of the weekend.
After qualifying in 15th position in Practice on Friday problems arose in both races, run in tricky conditions amongst a whole new field of Dutch competitors on their home circuit. Finishing both races well down the order (12th in Race 1 and 15th in Race 2) it was only after race 2 where a brake balance problem was found and thought to be affecting Dan’s performance all weekend.
Disappointment for the Jersey based driver, following his success in the GT4 Challenge at Spa. However Dan is still lying 6th in the overall driver Championship standings and is looking forward to the fourth and final EuroCup event supporting the Zandvoort F3 Masters in the Netherlands in mid-August, with the three Dutch races also counting towards the Dunlop MSA Formula Ford Championship of Great Britain.
