Dan secured another three top six finishes in the penultimate race weekend of the MSA Dunlop Formula Ford Championship and walked away with the Spirit Award.
Dan was out to impress at Donington this weekend in his Mygale Formula Ford. Setting the 7th quickest time in qualifying despite being baulked on his final flying lap by Layac, grid positions for races 2 & 3 were both 6th overall.
Race 1 was on Saturday, where Dan got off to a flying start quickly working his way up into 4th position and defended it to the end of the race despite mounting pressure from Parry close behind.
Races 2 and 3 were on Sunday, where Damp conditions didn’t help matters. Dan started in 6th position for both Races Dan got a great start propelling himself righ into the mix at the front of the pack but in both races Dan was struggling for grip in the latter part of the race dropping back to finish 6th and 7th respectively.
At the prize giving Dan was awarded the ‘Spirit’ award in recognition of his support of the championship throughout the season.
Dan commented "It has been a frustrating weekend, we had the pace on Thursday put lots of hard work into the set-up and testing prior to this weekend, but I just don’t seem to be able to capitalise on it in the race.”
The last round of the MSA Formula Ford Championship is at Silverstone on 8/9th October but before then Dan will be back out in the Aston Martin GT4, having helped NMR secure the 2011 GT4 Challenge Cup, Dan will return to race the Aston Martin V8 Vantage for the Britcar 24hrs next weekend.
